Round 6 brings impressive Rangers victories

With the majority of Rangers C grade attending Matty Bell’s wedding, plus a large Rangers contingent also traveling to the Hunter, Rangers managed to scrape together two teams for the weekend and despite the odds being stacked against them, came away with two impressive victories.

The E2’s, despite missing their coach and the entire Bell clan put together a 20-8 victory over the tigers whilst the D2’s bounced back from a disappointing few weeks to post a 21-5 win over North Ryde. A very big thankyou to our partner team the Twins for their players who played a major role in the team’s win.

Game changer match report for the D2’s as follows:

The Rangers offense too much for Nth Ryde in 21-4 rout

The Rangers shut the door early on Nth Ryde, capturing a 21-4 victory on Saturday at Rofe Park.

With eight runs in the first three innings, the Rangers left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A steal of home by Grant Lacey and an RBI single by Brad Rockwell in the first inning and an error, a groundout by Hyo Jo Kim, combined with a two-run single by Brad during the second inning fueled the Rangers’ offense early.
Nth Ryde couldn’t slow down Yoon Hwan Choi, who paced the Rangers with five hits. He singled in the second, third, fourth, and fifth innings.

Jeff Watts recorded the win for the Rangers. He allowed three runs over three innings. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered seven hits.

The Rangers hammered Nth Ryde pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 23 hits, 15 RBIs and 19 runs scored.

Alex Langley was the game’s losing pitcher. He allowed 21 runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out three.

Three runs in the top of the third helped Nth Ryde close its deficit to 7-3. An RBI single by Terry Boyd and a two-run home run by Chum Mo triggered Nth Ryde’s comeback. But, Jeff got Alex to fly out to end the inning.

The Rangers quickly matched Nth Ryde’s strong inning with a seven-run inning of their own in the fifth. The Rangers scored on an RBI single by Richard Ash, a bases loaded walk, a bases loaded walk by Alex, an RBI single by Brad, a groundout by Nigel King, and a two-run single by Jeff.
