The Rangers and West Boomers played to a 4-4 tie on Saturday at Rofe Park.
Brad Rockwell was the star of the day Rangers pitching 5 strong innings of 1 run baseball whilst he also racked up two RBIs on two hits for Rangers including a single in the first and a standup triple in the sixth.
It was actually Rangers in the bottom of the second that saw them take an early lead, 1-0. Strong opposition pitching and lack of run production saw the score remain at 1-1 until the the bottom of the last as Rangers survived West Boomers’ surge and put up three runs of their own in the sixth. The Rangers’ rally started when Kevin Dinn singled. A stolen base then moved Kevin from first to second. Matt Raymond singled, plating Kevin, with Rangers scoring again on an RBI single by Steve Graham and a two-run triple by Brad.
With the winning run on third and nobody out, Rangers went within a whisker of winning the game unfortunately the heart of the order couldn’t get the job done with a great comeback neutralised and a tie resulting.
